Mirin is the predominant flavour in the kaiseki art, the highest form of Japanese cuisine. It is traditionally brewed using labour-intense fermentation processes representing the history and culture of pre-industrial Japan. Without artificial additives or preservatives, Mirin has a sweet, flavourful taste and is an all-purpose seasoning. It heightens milder flavours at the same time providing balance to stronger tasting dishes. Perfect for Asian and Western cooking. Use in sauces, stirfries, noodles, rice and even fruity desserts.
