Organic Besan Flour, also known as chickpea flour or gram flour, is stonemilled from finely ground chickpeas. Besan Flour has a natural pale yellow colour and retains its chickpea taste.
Organic Besan Flour is commonly used as a binding or thickening agent in many recipes and used widely in Indian and Middle Eastern cooking for pancakes, dumplings, sweetmeat and for pakora batter. Organic Besan flour can also be substituted for wheat based flours in recipes including bread, muffins and cakes.
