These small black/blue Poppy Seeds have a fresh, slightly nutty flavour and aroma with a crisp, crunchy texture. Poppy Seeds can be ground or used whole. A traditional food in many countries, they are often added to home-baked goods, and also give delicious crunch to sweet or savoury dishes.
Poppy Seeds are often added to baked goods or sprinkle on top of loaves and rolls before cooking. Poppy Seeds can also be ground to a coarse seed paste that is full of sweet nutty flavour and is great for using in baking and desserts. Simply grind with a mortar and pestle or a coffee grinder. A little oil or coconut cream can be added for a smooth blend.
